About fertile season, holy dmg, minions
1. Fertile season affect only party members or enemy too?
2. If im using Balthazar form i have more damage? because the holy dmg. from it ignore armor 3. paragon chants affect necro minions? 4. Cry of Frustration Spell. If target foe is using a skill, that foe and all foes in the area are interrupted and suffer 10...37 damage. Many skills have this description "If target foe is using a skill, that foe bla bla", my question is if u cast this spell on a foe who didnt use a SKILL (not spell) what is happening? Heroes using interupt spells like CRY OF Frustration ill know when a foe use a skill, so they can cast a interrupt spell? Last edited by xromania???; May 30, 2007 at 02:18 AM // 02:18.. |

1) ranger spirts effect everyone in range, friend and foe
2) holy damage from balthazar doesn't ignore armor, but it ignores any armor mods such as +10 vs physical, etc because it is considered neither physical nor elemental 3) used to, don't anymore, only actual party members 4) if you click on a mob, you'll see when it's using a skill, your heroes have a similar perception and know when to use interrupts |

Correct me if i am wrong.
1) Spirits affect everything in earshot (Range of spirit) 2) Non-normal attack ignore the amour mods. Some classes / creatures are weaker to some attack and more resistance against some. Examples: Non-normal attack ignore warrior amour. Ranger has high amour against ele damages. Undeads are weaker with holy dmg. Fire imps are weaker against icy damage, etc. 3) Shout only works on PARTY members ONLY now. 4) Cry only interrupt when the condition is fulfilled. In this case, the foe must be using a skill for cry to work. So the effects of all foe interrupted and suffer damages will be null if cry failed to hit. (Not too sure about if cry applied on foe that are attacking, but highly unlikely) |

But i remember a "rule" holy dmg from skills not from weapons ignore armor, so why u say balthazar form ignore only mods on armor... but foes have these mods like humans or heroes? (like the ranger bonus armor against elemetal)
I asked about holy cuz i heard Lich in Gate of madness mission is weak to holy dmg. Can some1 reconsider the wiki page about Gate of madness, i think many things are wrong there, being a old runner of this mission. They say there u should have the derv henchman in party, but i dont see the point to use this stupid henchman in hardest mission in the game. I want please other skills than in wiki to kill Shiro or Lich, i dont say all sugestion there are wrong, but really i dont like what skills they sugest, should be more instead. What can kill Lich fast i want to know especially, if u say Balthazar didnt ignore armor... |

Holy Damage has always been the subject of much debate since most Skills that deal Direct Holy Damage are Armor Ignoring, yet skills/etc that make your Weapon deal holy damage do not.
The confusion comes in because people like to group things together and say things like "Type X ignores armor" and GW just isn't like that...ArenaNet decides what skills ignore armor and which don't, regardless of what they listed the type of damage as. ---bringing a henchman just to pick on the weakness of the Lich IS a wasted slot, since the Lich is about the LEAST of your worries in that mission. |

OK, the basic isues:
-Nature spirits affect all creatures in range, friend or foe. Remember that in areas where enemies cast nature rituals - it can be very useful to knock down some wardens in Kurzick lands, for example. -Some skills, including dervish forms, can change what type of damage you cause. Unless specifically stated otherwise, the amount of damage stays the same. A dervish using a max scythe will normally inflict up to 41 physical damage, but when he casts Avatar of Balthazzar, he will inflict up to 41 holy damage. -no damage type in itself ignores armor. Not even holy damage. However, many skills using a certain type of damage cause armor ignoring damage, and people so often asssume all do. It is easily seen that this is wrong just by taking a look at Judge's insight. It converts all damage to holy and gives you 20% armor penetration - if all holy damage were armor ignoring, the armor penetration would never work... -Some enemies are particularly resistant or weak to a certain type of damage. All undead, for example, take double damage from holy damage inflicting skills/attacks. Many ice creatures are weak to fire damage, and many fire creatures are weak against ice. So, Avatar of Balthazzar will be a very welcome addition in the Desolation, as it is crowded with undead. I know it was of use to my dervish in gates of madness, too, but mostly because of the extra 40 armor, to tank Shiro... -Every mission can be done in several ways. Gates of madness is, to me, probably not the hardest mission. Once you know how to approach it, it is actually quite simple. By now, I find the hardest part the aggro management at the portals, not Shiro or Lich. Especially if I use an assassin as tank... |

1. Nature Rituals have a range of about doulbe the aggro bubble. Ritualist Spirits have the same area of effect unless otherwise stated.
2. Spells that deal Holy Damage will always do the damage stated unless target foe is weak to holy damage or had skills that reduce raw damage.(Armor of Sanctity reduces Holy Damage, and all damage for that matter, if condition is met, pun intended) Skills/Spells/Weapons that cause you to deal Holy Damage DO NOT make you deal armor ignoring damage, just a different type of damage. 3. Paragon Shouts DO NOT affect Necros Minions or Spirits. 4. Cry of Frustration will Interrupt the foe if he is using a skill and as long as that condition is met, it will interrupt all foes in the area no matter what they are doing, casting or attacking. The Lich is not your biggest problem in Gate of Madness, Shiro is. He should take extra damage from Holy Damage because he is Undead, but I myself have not tested this. |

Never tried pulling Shiro first. I hear you can tho, not sure how. I assume you just hug the left wall or something.
